Jeff Coursen, Managing Partner

Jeff Coursen

As Managing Partner of GPX Enterprises, Mr. Coursen brings significant experience and a demonstrated track record of success in developing and operating diverse organizations. His primary responsibilities are to oversee the operations and the performance of the real estate and operating company portfolio assets.

Prior to joining GPX, Mr. Coursen served as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of ATX Communications, where he held various executive management positions for thirteen years. In April of 2005, Leucadia National Corporation (LUK: NYSE), the new owner of ATX at the time, appointed Mr. Coursen as the leader and senior officer. Mr. Coursen’s responsibilities and influence extended throughout virtually every functional area of the organization, including: strategic planning and execution; product development and management, sales and marketing, technical operations, customer operations and finance. Under his leadership ATX significantly improved key operating metrics and financial performance including significant gains in profitability, customer satisfaction, revenue acquisition performance and overall competitive market position, resulting in a successful sale and very high investment returns for the investors.

ATX was well recognized under Mr. Coursen’s leadership, receiving the prestigious Enterpriser Award from the Eastern Technology Council and Product of the Year honors by Communication Solutions Publication in 2005. In 2006, ATX was recognized by the American Business Awards as one of the "The Best Customer Service Organizations" in America and the "Communications Company of the Year" by the New Jersey Technology Council.
For his accomplishments, Mr. Coursen has been recognized as the American Business Awards’ "Best Turnaround Executive" in 2006 and received the "Outstanding Alumni" award in 2005 from the Drexel University Lebow School of Business, from which he earned his Executive M.B.A. in 1999.

Prior to ATX, Mr. Coursen held several management positions in corporate development and sales and marketing at Allnet Communications. During his tenure he worked directly with the Executive Management team and played a significant role in a significant operational turnaround of Allnet. His primary focus was on improving the financial and operating performance of the business in key geographic markets.

Mr. Coursen has been and remains active in several professional boards and non-profit associations, including: The Eastern Technology Council Board of Directors, the New Jersey Technology Council Board of Directors, The International Financial Management Association - National Honor Society, Squash Smarts Board of Directors, The Dana Farber Boston Marathon and Pan Mass Challenge, and the Philadelphia Boxing Scholarship Foundation. In March of 2007, Mr. Coursen was appointed as Executive in Residence by the Drexel Lebow College of Business and serves as Chair of the Corporate and Executive Advisory Council.

Mr. Coursen received his B.A. from Ohio Wesleyan University 1985, graduated from The Georgetown University Business School Professional Development Program in 1992, the Drexel University Executive M.B.A. program in 1999 and continues to participate in the Wharton School Executive Management Development Program.
